SOCCER RULES

All Games will use FIFA Rules with the following exceptions:

1. No offsides
2. Substitute entry allowed while players are off field
3. Teams: using an illegal player without first informing the referee:
   • team will forfeit the game and become ineligible for plays
   • player will receive a red card
4. Kick Ins vs. Throw Ins
   • competitive league kicks – indirect with the exception of penalty kicks below the waist.
   • recreational league throw ins – throw ball with both hands from behind and over the head
5. Kicks striking the ceiling or lights will result in a goal kick, corner kick or throw in for the appropriate team.
6. Slide tackling – not allowed; will result in penalty.
7. Goalkeeper cannot punt or distribute the ball over mid-field in the air
8. Goal kicks cannot travel over mid-field in the air
9. Kick-offs may travel backwards
10. Red card the player cannot finish current game or play the next game
11. Red card for fighting disqualifies a player from leagues for 1 year
12. Yellow card the player must leave the field until play restarts
13. Yellow card – issued for spitting
14. Youth Coed Leagues – must have two females on field during play; max two carded players per roster.
15. Players – can join only one team per age group including divisions.
16. Players (girls) – can play boys and girls leagues and may also play up in age
17. Players/ Teams – must use benches opposite from the spectator bleachers
18. Game Ball – both teams must supply a game ball
19. Half Time – 1 minute duration; game clock starts promptly
20. Restarts – 6 yards given on all restarts. indirect with exception of penalty kick.
21. Game Time – no time added for a late start or extended half time.
